Riviera Zenit 3" magnetic compass BH2/AVB is a bracket-mounted navigation compass for maritime course indication. This high-speed version features a front-reading compass card with a blue rose, a white housing, and built-in 12 V LED lighting.
The apparent compass card has a diameter of 3" / 80 mm and a scale graduation of 5°. Internal gimbal suspension stabilizes the compass card during the boat's movements, while the anti-glare screen supports clear reading. The built-in manual compensation is used for correction after installation.
The compass is supplied with a bracket and must be placed as far as practically possible from magnetic fields and moving ferrous masses. After mounting, the compass must be compensated by a professional with relevant authorization. The boat's mains voltage must be checked before connecting the documented 12 V LED lighting.
The compass is calibrated as standard for magnetic zone A. Calibration for zone B or C can be requested when placing the order. The compass fluid is Shell Sol D/70, and an elastic membrane compensates for the fluid's volume changes to prevent bubble formation within the temperature range of −30 °C to +60 °C.
Zenit compasses in class B, excluding BZT, are covered by the MED directive 2014/90/EU and specified for use in lifeboats and rescue boats. An individual MED certificate must be ordered with the compass and is therefore not included automatically. The warranty period is 3 years from the date of manufacture under the applicable warranty terms.
Clean the compass with a soft cloth dampened with fresh water. Filling plugs and screws must not be loosened. The compensator screws must only be adjusted with a non-magnetic screwdriver, and repairs must be carried out by Riviera to maintain warranty and safety.
