Red copper battery cable with a 70 mm² conductor cross-section for marine electrical installations. The cable is supplied as a 24 m roll and is rated for a maximum continuous current of 250 A.
The flexible class 5 conductor consists of 912 strands of 0.300 mm bare electrolytic copper. The multi-strand construction makes the cable suitable for installations where a heavy-duty battery cable must be routed through the boat's cable ducts. The maximum electrical conductor resistance is ≤ 0.272 Ω/km.
The conductor is surrounded by extra flexible PVC insulation of type TM2. The cable has a nominal outer diameter of 16 mm, while the diameter over the insulation is specified as 15.6 ± 0.3 mm. The radial insulation thickness is at least 2.0 mm, and the hardness of the insulation is 65 ± 2 Shore A.
The conductor construction complies with IEC 60228, and the insulation complies with EN 50363-4-1. The cable is manufactured according to EC standards for use in the boat's bilge area. The red insulation makes it suitable for clear identification of the relevant conductor in battery and power-carrying installations.
When terminating, cable lugs, butt connectors, and crimping tools must be sized for 70 mm² cable. Cable lugs with item no. 14.035.70 and 14.035.71 as well as butt connector 14.036.70 have documented matching cable cross-sections. Crimping tool 14.035.30 covers cable lugs from 10 to 120 mm². Parts are not included.
