The Ballslidetm carriages have so-called "captive ball bearings", which means that the balls remain in the carriage, even if the carriage is not installed, and can therefore be easily removed and placed on the mast when the mainsail is to be installed. The BallslideTM carriages fit the most popular masts, and for boats up to 60 feet. The continuous ball bearings make it easier and faster to hoist and lower the sail. No rail is required.
