Description
Ronstan has drawn on Andersen's many years of experience in manufacturing stainless steel winches in Denmark. The experience was invaluable and set the standard for reliability, mechanical efficiency and an unrivaled user experience.
· Spring-loaded self tailing jaws for 6 - 10 mm rope.
· Proven Andersen winch gear configuration.
· Power Rib ensures a controlled grip on the rope at all times.
· Minimal wear on the rope.
· No tools required for configuration and service.
· Machined aluminum drum - stronger and lighter than traditional cast aluminum drums.
· Aluminum center shaft, lower weight compared to bronze shafts.
· Low two-input due to gear configuration geometry.
· Hard anodized aluminum drum and center shaft, aluminum self tailing arm.
· 316 stainless steel shaft and pawls.
· Aluminum bronze gears.
· Nylon reinforced self tailer.
· Self-lubricating shafts and roller bearings.
COMPLETELY WITHOUT THE USE OF TOOLS
Full disassembly and assembly can be accomplished without the use of tools. To remove the drum, pull back on the spring-loaded release latch and a slight counter-clockwise rotation will allow the self-tailing arm to be lifted from the winch. The drum can then be removed from the winch center shaft. When reassembling the winch, an audible click confirms that the self-tailing arm is in place on the center shaft.
POWER RIBS
Inspired by the distinctive drum profile of Andersen winches, Power Ribs have been incorporated into the machined drums of Ronstans Orbit Winches to deliver the same impressive rope guidance with maximum grip and minimal wear on the rope. There are many benefits to the unique grip that Power Ribs provide:
· Requires fewer windings around the drum.
· Reduces the load in the self tailer, and encourages the rope to slide easily upwards on the drum to avoid overrides.
· The non-abrasive drum surface extends the life of the rope and allows for smooth and controlled slack, even under high loads.
