This Rubex RBX interchangeable propeller hub kit RBX-127 connects a compatible Rubex propeller to the propeller shaft of Yamaha F300 and F350 4-stroke V8 engines with a 17-tooth propeller shaft and 5¼" gearcase. The hub kit is designed for New Saturn and HR TITAN Rubex propellers in propeller category E+.
The interchangeable rubber propeller hub acts as an elastic and shock-absorbing connection between the propeller and the propeller shaft. The design dampens vibrations and gear shift rattle, and reduces shock loads on the propeller shaft, for instance if the propeller strikes an underwater object. The hub can be removed from the propeller and reused if the propeller itself becomes worn or damaged.
The hub design consists of an elastic rubber element with a bronze core and bronze splines. The kit includes thrust washer 81013390, RBX hub 81023390, adapter ring 73107903, and rear spacer 81053390. The manufacturer's hub number for RBX-127 is 17039300.
Compatibility
The hub kit fits Yamaha F300 and F350 4-stroke V8 with 17 splines and 5¼" gearcase. It must be combined with a separate Rubex propeller in category E+. Compatible E+ propellers include 9571-160-13, 9572-160-13, 9571-160-15, 9572-160-15, 9571-160-17, 9572-160-17, 9571-160-19, 9572-160-19, 9571-158-21, 9572-158-21, 9571-156-23, and 9572-156-23.
Installation
The thrust washer is mounted first on the propeller shaft with the cone correctly oriented. The RBX hub is inserted from the boat side of the propeller and pressed in carefully until it is flush with the hub bore. The adapter ring is mounted with the angled side toward the propeller, after which the propeller shaft is lubricated and the propeller and hub are pushed onto the shaft. The rear spacer is installed as needed.
Original flat washer, propeller shaft nut, and cotter pin are not included. The engine manual must be used when tightening, as the torque depends on the engine. The engine must be in neutral with the ignition off before propeller service.
Always check the engine model, V8 engine type, gearcase size, and propeller shaft spline count before purchasing.
