Scanstrut vertical cable seal in grey plastic model DS21B-P is a watertight deck seal for vertical routing of a single cable with a diameter of 9–14 mm. It is suitable for antenna, navigation light and electronic cables, among others, and must not be mounted below the waterline.
The split cable seal allows the gland to be mounted around an existing cable without removing or cutting the connector. A plug or connector with a diameter of up to 21 mm can be passed through the mounting hole. Sealing inserts with pre-drilled holes of 9, 11 and 13 mm are included, as well as a blank insert for individual customization.
The dome-shaped housing is made of impact-resistant, UV-stable and durable grey plastic. The rounded profile without sharp edges reduces the risk of lines snagging and simultaneously protects the cable entry. The fasteners are made of 316 stainless steel, and a watertight 3M base gasket is included.
The seal has an outer diameter of 49 mm, a height of 20.5 mm and a mounting base with a diameter of 45.7 mm. The surface mounting requires a 21 mm through-hole. Three self-tapping No. 6 × 16 screws are included, and the captive nuts in the base allow for repeated disassembly and reassembly.
When customizing, choose the pre-drilled insert that is closest to the cable diameter. The blank insert can be drilled approximately 1–2 mm larger than the cable. No sealant is applied directly to the sealing inserts, while silicone is used around the mounting area during installation. The cable seal forms an IP68-rated seal and comes with a 3-year manufacturer's warranty.
