Scanstrut Flip Pro waterproof panel-mount socket in this version is a compact 12 V DC power socket for flush mounting in panels on boats and other mobile installations. The socket is designed for standard 12 V cigarette lighter and accessory plugs and features a red LED power indicator.
The power socket connects to a 12 V DC system with an allowable input voltage of 10–15 V DC. It can deliver up to 10 A and has a maximum power output of 150 W. The standby power consumption is 0.01 W. When installing in a 24 V system, a separate voltage converter is required.
The spring-loaded lid keeps the socket closed when not in use and provides IPX4 protection on the front side when correctly mounted on a flat, smooth, and non-porous surface. The lid can be locked in the open position so it does not rest against the connected plug or cable. The construction is UV-resistant and features a corrosion-resistant coating, a hinge and spring in 316 stainless steel, and internal contacts made of nickel-plated copper alloy.
The front flange measures 68.1 × 51.0 mm, and the front extends 19.7 mm from the mounting surface. The rear installation depth is 42.4 mm. The housing has a diameter of Ø30.2 mm and mounts in an Ø32 mm cutout. The product can be mounted in panels with a thickness of 3–25 mm.
The socket can be secured from the rear with the locking ring or mounted from the front using the included front-mounting frame and four No. 6 × 20 mm screws. For front mounting, a 2.5 mm pilot drill is recommended in soft materials such as plywood and 3.0 mm in hard materials such as fiberglass. Screw and pilot holes must be sealed with silicone, and the electrical connection is made via a 6.3 × 0.8 mm spade terminal.
The delivery includes the 12 V socket, gasket, locking ring, front-mounting frame, and four mounting screws. Cable size and fuse must be chosen based on load, cable length, and voltage drop. The socket must be mounted above the waterline and must not be installed where it may become submerged or in hazardous and flammable atmospheres such as an engine room.
