Scanstrut horizontal cable seal DS-HD10 is a watertight, surface-mounted cable seal for routing two round cables with an outer diameter of 6–10 mm. The horizontal cable entry is suitable for installing solar panels, roof and deck-mounted lights, light bars, and other electronic equipment.
The grey, low-profile housing is made of impact-resistant, UV-stable, and glass-fiber reinforced nylon. The fasteners are made of marine-grade AISI 316 stainless steel, and the construction is IP68-rated. Captive nuts make both the initial assembly and later reassembly easier.
Separate cable seals for two cables in sizes 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 mm are included, as well as two blank seals that can be drilled as needed. When the correct seal size is used, the seal fits tightly around the cable without the need for sealant on the cable seal itself.
The cable seal measures 75.1 × 66.5 × 28.5 mm (L × W × H). Installation requires a central feed-through hole of Ø 32 mm and four mounting holes. The drill diameter is 2.5 mm in soft materials such as plywood and 3 mm in hard materials such as fiberglass, hardwood, acrylic, and metal.
Delivery includes the outer housing, base, watertight 3M base gasket, M5 × 10 locking bolt, four no. 6 × 16 self-tapping mounting screws, and 12 cable seals. When mounting on metal, M3 countersunk bolts longer than 12 mm with washers and Nyloc nuts must be used; these parts are not included. The mounting instructions specify the use of silicone for the four mounting screws.
The DS-HD10 can be mounted on wood, plywood, GRP/fiberglass, hardwood, acrylic, steel, and aluminum. The product comes with a 3-year warranty.
