Scanstrut vertical multi-cable deck seal is a surface-mounted cable seal for waterproof routing of multiple cables through decks, roofs, or other mounting surfaces. The black plastic model DS-MULTI-P-BLK combines multiple cable passages into a single installation and is suitable for cables from, among other things, navigation equipment, antennas, solar panels, lights, and other deck- or roof-mounted electronics.
The included gasket insert is supplied without pre-drilled cable holes and is adapted to the specific cable arrangement. Holes can be drilled for cables with a diameter of up to 15 mm. The distance between cable holes must be at least 4 mm, and the distance from a hole to the edge of the gasket must be at least 1.5 mm.
The design allows cables to be routed through the mounting surface without removing existing plugs or terminal connections. Cable connectors with a diameter of up to 18 mm can be passed through the installation. The cable seal is IPX7 rated and protects the cable passage against water ingress.
The housing is made of impact-resistant and UV-resistant black plastic for maritime and outdoor use. The stated two-dimensional measurement is 99 × 48 mm. The product is mounted vertically on top of the penetration surface and comes with a gasket that is drilled according to the cable diameters.
When drilling, the gasket insert can be frozen to approximately −18 °C to achieve clean holes. For soft materials such as plywood, use a 2.5 mm pilot hole, while fiberglass, hardwood, and acrylic require a 3 mm pilot hole. For metal mounting, use a 4 mm pilot hole and countersunk bolts of at least M4 × 12 mm with a washer and locking nut.
