This Scanstrut ROKK Mini screw-down base for surface mounting is a separate base component for the modular ROKK Mini mounting system. The RLS-401 is permanently screwed onto a flat surface and forms the connection point for the adjustable RLS-AM mounting body.
The system can be assembled for mounting smartphones, tablets, fishfinders, digital video cameras, VHF radios, and GPS devices. The specific device compatibility is determined by the selected clamp or top component. The base is therefore not a complete device holder and must be combined with the mounting body (item no. 23.404.00) as well as a suitable clamp.
The base measures 53 × 53 mm and is made of black, UV-stable marine-grade plastic. It has four mounting holes with a diameter of 4.2 mm and a center-to-center distance of 34 × 34 mm. The design is intended for marine use on, for example, decks, cabin tables, tabletops, or a similar solid and flat surface.
Installation is carried out by marking the four attachment points, pre-drilling with a Ø 2.5 mm drill bit, and securing the base with the four included self-tapping No. 4 × 20 screws. A Pozidriv screwdriver and silicone as a sealant should be used. The location must provide sufficient space for the mounting body to be moved and removed without obstruction.
In a configuration with the RLS-AM mounting body and RL-502 top plate, the system is rated for a maximum load of 1.2 kg in a dynamic environment with accelerations of up to 6 g. This value applies to the described complete configuration and is not an independent load rating for the individual base. The product comes with a 3-year manufacturer's warranty.
Documented device clamps include the phone/GPS clamp with item no. 23.404.10 for devices with a width of 45–95 mm and the tablet clamp with item no. 23.404.11 for devices with a width of 125–220 mm. Alternative ROKK Mini bases include the self-adhesive base 23.404.04, the rail mount base 23.404.05, and the suction cup base 23.404.06.
