This Scanstrut TILE flush-mount USB-A/USB-C charging socket is a compact panel-mount charging outlet for interior boat areas. It features one USB-A port and one USB-C port for charging phones, tablets, laptops, and other compatible USB devices. The front panel is finished in brushed 316 stainless steel, while the port insert is black.
The charging socket can be connected to 12 or 24 V DC and has a proven input range of 10–32 V DC. With a 12 V system, the USB-C port can deliver up to 36 W. With a 24 V system, the USB-C port supports voltage profiles up to 20 V and a maximum charging power of 60 W. USB-A supports QC 3, while USB-C supports PD 3 and QC 4. The actual charging power depends on the supply system, the connected device, and the cable used.
The front panel measures 40.4 × 40.4 mm and has a front projection of 6.2 mm. The total installation depth is 66.5 mm, and the cylindrical housing has a diameter of 28 mm. The electronics are conformal-coated for protection against moisture, but the charging socket is not waterproof and must only be mounted indoors where it is not exposed to water or splashes.
Mounting requires a Ø 29 mm panel cutout and a minimum panel thickness of 3 mm. The housing and wire are passed through the cutout, the base is secured with two screws, and the decorative bezel is clicked on afterwards. Connection is made with an approximately 150 mm long 18 AWG wire with open cable ends, where red is positive and black is negative. A 10 A fuse or circuit breaker is recommended between the battery and the charging socket.
The product must not be mounted in engine rooms, potentially explosive or flammable areas, or in places with insufficient ventilation. In high ambient temperatures or direct sunlight, electronic protection may temporarily interrupt charging. The charging socket contains no parts that the user can service or repair themselves.
The SC-TILE-11 model complies with CE, FCC, UKCA, C-Tick, RoHS, and UN ECE R10, among others. It is also specified according to relevant EMC and safety standards, including EN 55032, EN 55035, EN 61000, and IEC/EN 62368-1. The product comes with a 3-year non-transferable warranty.
