Scanstrut horizontal cable seal DS-HD6 is a grey, waterproof low-profile model for routing two cables through, for example, a boat's deck or roof. The horizontal design allows the cables to run parallel to the mounting surface and is particularly suitable for solar panel installations.
The seal is designed for two cables with an outer diameter of 5 or 6 mm. The included cable seals make it possible to combine the two cable diameters as needed. The set contains two blind seals, two seals for 5 mm cables, and two seals for 6 mm cables.
The housing is made of UV-stable, glass-fiber reinforced nylon in an impact-resistant design. The low profile protects the cable entry from impact and water exposure. The seal has an IPX7 rating and comes with a waterproof gasket as well as AISI 316 stainless steel fasteners.
The product measures 63 × 54 × 22 mm and is mounted over a central Ø25 mm through-hole. The four mounting holes have a nominal hole diameter of Ø3 mm. For soft materials such as plywood, use a 2.5 mm pilot hole, while fiberglass, hardwood, and acrylic require a 3 mm pilot hole. The included No. 6 screws are used for these surfaces.
When mounting in steel or aluminum, use a 3 mm pilot hole and M3 countersunk bolts over 12 mm with washers and Nyloc nuts. These metal fasteners are not included. The through-hole must be deburred, and the mounting surface cleaned before assembly.
The delivery includes the outer housing, base, gasket, one M5 × 10 bolt, four No. 6 × 16 self-tapping screws, and six cable seals. The product comes with a 3-year warranty.
