Scanstrut horizontal cable seal DS-H10 is a low-profile, waterproof solution for routing a single cable with an outside diameter of 6–10 mm through a deck, roof, bulkhead, or similar panel. The horizontal cable seal is suitable for marine and other outdoor installations, including cables for solar panels, exterior lighting, and roof-mounted electronics.
The housing is manufactured from glass-filled nylon and features an impact-resistant, UV-stable construction. The cable seal is IPX7 rated and seals around the cable by compressing the selected seal insert. A gasket between the base and the mounting surface contributes to a watertight installation.
The DS-H10 comes with five pre-drilled seal inserts for cable diameters of 6, 7, 8, 9, and 10 mm, as well as a blank insert that can be drilled as needed. The blank insert can be customized for cables from 2 to 10 mm, while the product's nominal cable range is 6–10 mm. No sealant is required on the cable insert itself.
The cable seal measures 77.5 × 44.5 × 27 mm and is mounted over a Ø25 mm through-hole. It is secured with four included No. 6 × 16 self-tapping screws, while the housing is assembled with an M5 × 10 bolt. The installation guide shows the use of silicone at the mounting points on the installation surface.
Captive internal nuts make it easier to open and reassemble the housing for service or changes to the installation. The interchangeable seal inserts also allow the seal to be adapted to different cable diameters without replacing the entire unit. The product comes with a 3-year warranty.
