This Scanstrut waterproof multi-cable seal in anodized aluminum is designed for the vertical passage of multiple electrical and electronic cables through a deck, roof, or other mounting surface. The DS-MULTI provides a tight and consolidated cable installation with IPX7 protection.
The included un-drilled seal is customized to the specific cable configuration and can accommodate cables of various diameters up to Ø15 mm. Cables with factory-fitted connectors can be routed through the seal without removing the end connectors, and connectors with a diameter of up to Ø18 mm can pass through during installation.
The housing is made of marine-grade anodized aluminum with a hard, UV-stable, and wear-resistant surface. The construction features captive nuts, which facilitate assembly, disassembly, and subsequent reassembly. The seal measures 99 × 47.5 mm and has a mounted height of 17 mm.
When customizing, each cable hole is drilled approximately 0.5 mm larger than the cable's actual diameter and at most Ø15 mm. There must be at least 1.5 mm of material between the cable holes and the edge of the seal. For cables with pre-fitted connectors, a slit is cut from the edge of the seal to the relevant hole. It is recommended to cool the seal to approximately −18 °C before drilling.
The seal is suitable for marine electronics, GPS, VHF, radar, and antenna cables, as well as cable routing for navigation lights, solar panels, and other deck- or roof-mounted electronic equipment. The package includes an outer housing, base, base gasket, un-drilled cable seal, four M4 × 10 bolts, and four No. 6 × 16 self-tapping screws.
