Watertight bulkhead seal for multiple cables from Scanstrut is a TBH-4 cable seal for watertight routing and mechanical retention of up to four electrical cables through a bulkhead or panel. Each cable must have an outside diameter of 7–15 mm.
The seal is IP67 rated and manufactured from high-strength molded nylon with an inner over-molded seal. The design seals the cable bundle while providing strain relief and anchoring for the cables. It can be used for, among other things, power and control cables for anchor windlasses as well as cables for navigation equipment.
The TBH-4 has an outside diameter of 71 mm and a body diameter of 63 mm. Installation requires a Ø 60 mm hole and is intended for bulkhead thicknesses from 10 to 35 mm. The axial length is 50 mm in the open position and 41 mm when the seal is fully tightened.
The included inserts make it possible to adjust the compression to the total diameter of the cable bundle. The seal alone covers cable bundles of Ø 30–38 mm, while the two strain relief inserts cover Ø 20–30 mm and Ø 10–20 mm, respectively. These measurements apply to the total cable bundle; each individual cable must still be Ø 7–15 mm.
Installation can be performed by one person with access from only one side of the bulkhead. A Ø 60 mm hole is drilled, the seal is fastened from the front, and the cable holes are perforated in the seal with a 3 mm screwdriver. The cables are then fed through, the appropriate insert is selected, and the outer nut is tightened. Installation also requires a 62 mm wrench and a Ø 60 mm hole saw.
The product is supplied as one seal unit with a threaded nut and two inserts for different compression ranges. A three-year warranty is provided.
