This Scanstrut Ventura exterior 12V power socket is a low-profile, panel-mount DC cigarette lighter socket. It is designed for demanding installations on boats, in RVs, campervans, caravans, and off-road vehicles.
The socket is intended for 12V systems and operates at 10–15V DC. It supports a load of up to 10A and 150W and has a standby power consumption of 0.01W. Connection at the rear is via 6.3 × 0.8 mm spade terminals. For use in a 24V system, a separate 24-to-12V voltage converter is required.
The front features IP68 and IP69K protection when the lid is fully closed, the socket is not in use, and the product is correctly mounted on a flat, smooth, and non-porous surface. The spring-loaded lid features a click-to-close mechanism and can be held at 90°. The construction combines UV-resistant plastic, AISI 316 stainless steel components, and an integrated gasket. The product must not be mounted where it could become fully or partially submerged.
The front measures 68.0 × 60.3 mm, while the closed lid protrudes 16.0 mm from the mounting surface. The rear housing has a depth of 37.6 mm and a diameter of 30.2 mm. The total required mounting depth to the rear edge of the terminals is 47.8 mm. With the lid open, the total height is 119.0 mm, and 122 mm of vertical clearance must be allowed for the lid to open fully.
Mounting is performed through a Ø32 mm hole and with four screws in the front flange. The mounting holes have a center distance of 44 mm horizontally and 40 mm vertically. Four No.6 mounting screws are included. Sealant should be used at the screws, and the fasteners must not be overtightened. For through-mounting, flanged M4 pan-head bolts with washers and nyloc nuts can be used; these parts are not included.
The power socket is compatible with 12V cigarette lighter plugs with a barrel length of at least 44 mm. It can be used for items such as cooler boxes, portable compressors, pumps, and inverters, provided the load is kept within 10A and 150W. The installation must be protected with an appropriate fuse or circuit breaker, correct cable gauge, and correct polarity. The product is CE, RoHS, and WEEE compliant and comes with a 3-year non-transferable manufacturer's warranty.
