This Scanstrut Ventura TV/SAT Socket is a weatherproof, panel-mount coaxial connection for 75 Ω impedance TV and satellite systems. The two F-type connectors are labeled SAT and CABLE, respectively, allowing external satellite and cable TV signals to be routed through the hull or the vehicle’s exterior panel.
The socket is designed for exposed marine and outdoor environments and can be used in boats, motorhomes, campervans, and caravans. The spring-loaded cap features a snap-shut closure and can be held at 90°, providing access to the connectors during connection. The cap must be closed securely when the connection is not in use and should not be left open while sailing or driving.
The front face meets IP68 and IP69K ratings when the cap is fully closed, the product is not in use, and it is correctly mounted on a flat, smooth, and non-porous surface. The construction consists of UV-resistant matte black polymer, nickel-plated brass F-type connectors, EPDM seals, and AISI 316 stainless steel mounting screws. The product must not be placed where it can be fully or partially submerged.
The closed housing measures 60.3 mm in width and 68 mm in height. The front protrudes 16 mm from the mounting plane, while the rear-facing connections extend 11.1 mm. Mounting requires a central panel cutout of Ø38 mm and four mounting holes with a horizontal center spacing of 44 mm and a vertical center spacing of 40 mm. A vertical installation clearance of 122 mm must be provided so the cap can open fully.
For soft materials such as plywood and thin metal sheets, use a Ø2.5 mm pilot drill for the included no. 6 screws. For fiberglass, hardwood, and acrylic, use a Ø3 mm pilot drill. Alternatively, through-mounting can be performed using Ø4 mm holes with M4 flange bolts, washers, and Nyloc nuts, which are not included. Use sealant on the mounting screws, avoid overtightening, and do not choose a mounting location with a flammable atmosphere, intense heat radiation, or insufficient ventilation.
RG6 coaxial cable is recommended between the socket and the TV or receiver. Coaxial cables should not be routed directly parallel to electrical cables, as this can create signal interference. The package contains the socket unit itself and four mounting screws. The product is RoHS-compliant, complies with GPSR (EU) 2023/988, and comes with a 3-year non-transferable manufacturer's warranty.
