This Scanstrut vertical cable seal in grey plastic is the DS30-P model for watertight routing of one cable through a deck or other mounting surface. It fits cables with a diameter of 9–14 mm and provides room for a pre-fitted plug or connector up to Ø 30 mm.
The split cable seal allows the cable gland to be mounted around an existing cable without disconnecting terminals or plugs. It includes four seal inserts: pre-drilled inserts of Ø 9, Ø 11, and Ø 13 mm, as well as a closed, self-drillable insert. The closed insert can be adapted to the cable diameter and split with a cut from the edge to the hole.
The housing is made of impact-resistant, UV-stable plastic for maritime and outdoor environments. The rounded, dome-shaped profile has no sharp edges, which reduces the risk of lines snagging. The dome also protects the cable opening from direct water exposure.
The gland has a maximum outer diameter of 59 mm, a base diameter of 56 mm, and a mounted height of 20.5 mm. Installation requires a central hole of Ø 30 mm. Captive nuts in the base facilitate assembly and allow for repeated disassembly and reassembly.
The DS30-P is intended for surface mounting above the waterline. It is secured with four No. 6 × 16 self-tapping screws. Use a Ø 2.5 mm pilot drill in soft materials like plywood and a Ø 3 mm pilot drill in hard materials like fiberglass, acrylic, and hardwood. The cable insert does not require sealant, while silicone should be applied around the base's attachment points during installation.
Delivery includes dome, base, gasket for the mounting surface, four seal inserts, four M4 × 10 bolts, and four No. 6 × 16 self-tapping screws. The mounting hardware is made of 316 stainless steel, and a waterproof 3M gasket is included. The product has a 3-year warranty.
