This Scout fiberglass AM/FM radio antenna, model KS-108, is a passive marine antenna for receiving radio, music, and news broadcasts on board. The antenna is 90 cm long and operates in the 88–108 MHz frequency range with an impedance of 75 ohms.
The antenna whip is made of fiberglass with a wall thickness of 1.4 mm. It is fully foam-filled and features IP69-rated water resistance. The high-gloss, ice-white surface has an anti-UV filter that prevents degradation and discoloration during outdoor use in a maritime environment.
The KS-108 has an electrical length of 1/2 λ and vertical polarization. The antenna is supplied with a 4 m AM/FM cable with a jack plug, allowing the cable to be routed from the mounting location to the radio system.
The antenna is mounted on a compatible antenna base with the standard 1″ x 14 thread. The mounting base is not included and should be selected based on the mounting location. The uniform design allows the antenna to be visually combined with corresponding Scout marine antennas on board.
Installation and accessories
Compatible mounting options include the Scout PA-3C, PA-3, PA-33, PA-43, PA-30, PA-83, PA-40, and PA-82. The Scout PA-5 can be used as a cable gland for 6 mm cable. Check the mounting location and thread before selecting the mounting base.
The delivery includes one KS-108 antenna and 4 m AM/FM cable. The product has a 5-year manufacturer's warranty.
