Fiberglass Marine CB Antenna from Scout, model KS-7B, is a fixed-mount antenna for 27 MHz CB communication, particularly on board motorboats. The antenna is 1.5 m long, vertically polarized, and pre-tuned for 40 CB channels.
The electrical configuration is 1/2 λ with an impedance of 50 Ω and a V.S.W.R. of less than 1.5:1. The maximum input power is 10 W. These characteristics make the antenna suitable for a compatible maritime CB system with a 50 Ω antenna connection.
The antenna body is manufactured from 1.4 mm fiberglass and completely filled with waterproof polyurethane. The ice-white high-gloss finish features a UV filter, which prevents color degradation from sun exposure. The construction is 100% waterproof, while the base fitting is made of reinforced nylon. The antenna is finished with a navy blue top cap made of temperature-resistant vinyl plastic.
The KS-7B is supplied with a 5 m RG-58 CU MIL coaxial cable and a PL-259 male connector for RG-58. It is mounted on a compatible marine antenna base with a standard 1" × 14 TPI thread. The mounting base is not included in the delivery and must therefore be selected separately.
Compatible Scout bases include PA-3, PA-3C, PA-30, PA-40, PA-43, PA-82, and PA-83. The PA-5 can be used as a deck gland for the 6 mm RG-58 cable. The antenna is produced in Italy and comes with a 5-year warranty.
