This self-priming macerator pump for blackwater tanks is an electric 12 V DC pump for emptying marine blackwater and sewage tanks. The pump has a nominal capacity of 47 l/min and delivers 33 l/min at a 3 m total head.
The integrated macerator unit breaks down toilet sewage and waste with a rotating cutter, after which a flexible rubber impeller pumps the material out. The design is self-priming up to 1.2 m vertically, allowing the pump to be mounted above tank level. It is not intended for hard objects, sanitary napkins, or rags.
The pump has a 38 mm inlet and a 25 mm outlet. On the suction side, a non-collapsible hose with a 1½" inner diameter is recommended, while the discharge hose must have an inner diameter of at least 1". Suction side connections must be airtight, and hoses should be installed without sharp bends or constrictions and secured with suitable hose clamps.
The product measures 260 × 140 × 90 mm and is constructed with a metal pump housing, stainless internal parts, and a flexible rubber impeller. Power consumption is 18 A. The pump is intended for intermittent operation with a maximum of 15 minutes of continuous operation and must not run dry for more than 30 seconds.
The electrical connection must be made on a separate, fused circuit with the red wire to positive and the black wire to negative. The pump should be placed as close to the blackwater tank as practically possible. For discharge below the waterline, a vented loop is required that remains at least 8" above the waterline at all heel and trim angles.
Operation via a momentary switch allows the pump to be stopped immediately when the change in pump sound indicates that the tank is empty. The tank and pump should be rinsed thoroughly with water after each emptying. Discharge may only take place where legal. The pump is manufactured in Italy, CE-certified, and in compliance with EN ISO 8846. Spare impeller is available as item no. 16.193.73.
