This self-priming macerator pump is an electric 24 V DC pump for emptying marine sewage and blackwater tanks. The macerator function breaks down toilet waste and toilet paper so that the contents can be pumped out through a 25 mm outlet hose. The pump must only be used for discharge where permitted by applicable regulations.
The pump delivers up to 43 l/min and has a capacity of 23 l/min at a 3 m head. It can self-prime with up to a 0.6 m vertical lift. The inlet is designed for a 38 mm (1½") hose, while the outlet fits a 25 mm (1") hose. The total dimensions of the product are 240 × 130 × 90 mm.
The 24 V variant uses 6 A and is intended for intermittent duty with a maximum of 15 minutes of continuous operation. The pump may run dry for a maximum of 30 seconds, as longer dry running can damage the impeller and the pump. When the tank is empty, the pump sound changes, and the pump must be switched off immediately.
The pump should be mounted as close to the holding tank as practically possible. The suction hose must be non-collapsible, the connections on the suction side must be airtight, and the hoses must be secured with suitable hose clamps. In the case of discharge below the waterline, the installation must be carried out with a properly vented swan neck. The electrical connection must have a separate circuit and a correctly sized fuse. The red conductor is connected to positive and the black conductor is connected to negative.
The pump is intended for waste and toilet paper, but must not be subjected to hard objects, sanitary napkins, or cloths. After emptying, the tank and pump should be flushed with plenty of water. After long periods of inactivity, the flexible impeller may seize and require disassembly, cleaning, and reassembly.
The pump is CE-marked and meets EN ISO 8846 as well as the requirements of EU Directive 2013/53/EU. A spare impeller with item no. 16.193.73 is documented for this pump. The pump is also used as a built-in macerator in 24 V blackwater tanks with item nos. 50.147.24, 50.148.24, 50.149.24, 50.147.51, 50.147.66, 50.147.81, and 50.147.91.
