This Solas adapter kit for New Saturn 3-blade propeller is the UMD-KT variant in the Multi-Fit series. The kit is used as mounting hardware for a compatible 3-blade Solas New Saturn propeller when MD/UMD hardware is specified.
UMD-KT is intended for Mercury, Mariner, and Force engines in the Solas D category. The category includes engines from 40 to 140 hp with 4¼" gearcase, 15-spline propeller shaft, and through-hub exhaust. The gearcase size and the number of splines are compatibility data and do not describe the measurements of the adapter kit itself.
Compatible engine categories
The D application table includes Mercury 40 and 50 hp Bigfoot 4-stroke/CT, Mercury 60 hp Bigfoot 4-stroke/CT and Sea Pro/Marathon, Mercury 65–140 hp in the specified D applications, as well as Mercury models 900–1500 up to 1977. The category also includes relevant Mariner 80–140 hp, Yamaha-based Mercury/Mariner 80–140 hp, and Force 75, 90, 120, and 150 hp. The specific propeller must also specify MD/UMD hardware.
The MD propeller design exists in older and newer versions with different requirements for mounting hardware and thrust washer. The original MD design was discontinued in 2016. When mounting on a newer MD propeller, it must therefore be verified whether the propeller requires a separate Mercury Flo-Torq thrust washer or Solas ME-TW thrust washer.
