This SOLAS aluminium Duoprop propeller set A6 for Volvo Penta DP 280/290 is a complete, counter-rotating propeller set for diesel engines. The set consists of a front and a rear propeller and corresponds to Volvo Penta OEM reference 854769.
The front propeller has 3 blades and left-hand rotation (LH), while the rear propeller has 4 blades and right-hand rotation (RH). The combination forms the dual, counter-rotating Duoprop system, where both propellers must be used as a matched set with the same type and size code.
The front propeller has SOLAS part no. 8512-153-19, a diameter of 15.3", a pitch of 19" and 27 splines. The rear propeller has SOLAS part no. 8513-138-21, a diameter of 13.75", a pitch of 21" and 19 splines. Both propellers have an integrated rubber hub.
The propellers are manufactured from aluminium using a squeeze-cast process, which provides a denser and less porous structure than traditional die-casting. The anti-corrosive surface has a four-layer coating and is salt spray tested for more than 500 hours.
The set is intended for Volvo Penta DP 280/290. The drive's original mounting hardware is required, and installation may require special tools. Tightening torques and hardware selection must be checked in the drive manual, as mounting parts may depend on, among other things, the shaft version.
