This SOLAS outboard propeller in the Amita 3 series is a 3-blade aluminum propeller with a diameter of 9.25″ and a pitch of 9″. The right-hand rotation propeller is designed for select Mercury, Mariner, and Force outboard motors with an 8-spline propeller shaft and 2-1/2″ gearcase.
The Amita 3 propeller is manufactured using die-casting and features a traditional, pressed-in rubber hub. The hub design dampens vibration and helps protect the propeller shaft against heavy impact. Exhaust is routed through the propeller hub.
The propeller features a four-layer finish, and the corrosion protection has been tested in salt spray for more than 500 hours. The 3-blade design is developed with a focus on robust propeller blades, good acceleration, and high top speed.
Compatible motor models
The propeller fits Mercury and Mariner 6, 8, and 9.9 hp 2-stroke from 1986, 10 hp from 1986, and 10 and 15 hp Sea Pro/Marathon from 1995 to 2001. It also fits 15 hp 2-stroke and 4-stroke from 1989 to 2006.
For Mercury and Mariner 8 and 9.9 hp 4-stroke, compatibility applies to model years 2002-2004 and only motors without a Big Foot gearcase. The propeller also fits Force 9.9 and 15 hp from 1996 to 1998. Common to these applications is a 2-1/2″ gearcase, 8 splines, and through-hub exhaust. MerCruiser is included in the general application guide, but compatibility with the specific drive must be checked separately.
OEM and part numbers
The manufacturer part number is 1111-093-09. The propeller cross-references to Mercury OEM no. 48-828156A12. The previous Mercury numbers 48-42522A12 and 48-828156A45 have been replaced by 48-828156A12. Other aftermarket cross-references include Michigan Wheel 32052/032052 and Quicksilver QA2128R.
Installation
The original mounting hardware can be reused when the parts are in proper condition and fit the installation. A separate mounting kit 17011501 can be used for the Mercury A-series 6-15 hp with a pressed-in rubber hub. The kit includes an MATW thrust washer, MASP spacer, and MANT nut. The corresponding component numbers are 8101111, 8105111, and 8114111.
The correct propeller choice also depends on boat type, total weight, weight distribution, engine mounting position, and the existing propeller. Always check the engine/drive model, model year, gearcase, number of splines, and original part number before purchasing.
