This Solas Amita 3 aluminum propeller for Tohatsu has a diameter of 8.5″ and a pitch of 8″. The 3-blade propeller features right-hand rotation and is designed for small outboard motors with a 12-spline propeller shaft, 2½″ gearcase, and through-hub exhaust.
The propeller is manufactured from aluminum via squeeze casting, which produces an almost non-porous component compared to traditional die-casting. The Amita 3 series features strong propeller blades and is developed with a focus on acceleration and top speed. The black surface is protected with four layers of coating, and the series' aluminum propellers have been salt spray tested for more than 500 hours.
The hub has a permanently pressed-in rubber hub. Therefore, a separate interchangeable hub kit is not required for the propeller itself. The engine's original spacer, washers, propeller nut, and cotter pin may still be required and must be suitable for the specific engine installation.
Compatible engine models
The propeller is documented for Tohatsu 6, 8, and 9.8 hp 2-stroke as well as Tohatsu 8 and 9.8 hp 4-stroke. This includes, among others, the MFS8 and MFS9.8 as well as corresponding Nissan NSF8 and NSF9.8 models. Manufacturer part number 5011-085-08 is also documented for Mercury and Mariner 8–9.9 hp 4-stroke, non-Bigfoot, from 2005 onwards, as well as Johnson and Evinrude 9.8 hp 4-stroke from 2011/2012. All applications require the correct 12-spline shaft, 2½″ gearcase, and appropriate mounting hardware.
OEM and spare part numbers
The propeller corresponds to manufacturer part number 5011-085-08. The current Tohatsu spare part number 3B2B645151 is specified for the 8.5″ x 8″ size and replaces numbers 3B2645150M and 3B2W645150. The cross-reference 3B2-64515-0 / 3B2W64515-0 appears with a historical specification of 7.5″ pitch and should therefore only be used after verifying the original propeller.
Engine-dependent propeller hardware may require Tohatsu kit 3UA-87326-0 for M8/9.8B or 3UB-87326-0 for MFS8/9.8 A, A2, A3, and B. These kits are not documented as being included with the propeller.
