This Solas Amita 3 aluminum propeller for Tohatsu engines is a 3-blade, right-hand rotation propeller with a 9.25″ diameter, 9″ pitch, and a hub for a 14-spline propeller shaft. The primary application is the Tohatsu 15 hp 4-stroke from 2011.
The propeller is made of aluminum and features a fixed, pressed-in rubber hub. The traditional rubber hub is integrated into the propeller, so no separate RBX hub kit is required. The exhaust is routed through the hub, and the propeller is intended for engines with a 2½″ gearcase.
The Amita 3 series is manufactured using a squeeze-cast process, which provides a dense aluminum structure with very low porosity. The blade design is developed with a focus on strength, acceleration, and top speed. A four-layer finish protects the aluminum against corrosion, and the aluminum propellers have been tested in salt spray for more than 500 hours. This variant has a high-gloss black finish.
For installation, the engine's original Tohatsu thrust washer, spacer, and washer are used. The installation group uses the nut reference TANT and a 1½″ cotter pin. Check that the existing mounting hardware is intact and fits the engine's propeller shaft.
The propeller pitch should be selected according to the boat's hull, weight, load, and application. The correct propeller must allow the engine to operate within the prescribed RPM range at full throttle. A propeller with the correct mounting dimensions is therefore not necessarily the optimal pitch for all boats.
