This Solas New Saturn Rubex 3-blade stainless steel propeller has a diameter of 13 1/2", a pitch of 15", and left-hand rotation. It is designed for outboard and sterndrive engines with counter-rotation and is used in conjunction with a motor-specific Rubex hub kit.
The propeller has three blades and a high-blade-area design, which provides good all-round performance and acceleration. Solas stainless steel propellers are manufactured using precision casting, and the material provides a strong and dimensionally stable construction.
The Rubex system uses an interchangeable rubber hub that acts as a shock absorber between the propeller and the propeller shaft. The hub allows the propeller body to be adapted to different engine brands and shafts. The hub and mounting kit are not included and must be purchased separately. The number of splines therefore depends on the selected hub kit and is not a fixed specification of the propeller itself.
Compatibility and hub kit
With the correct hub kit, the propeller can be used for documented engine groups from Yamaha, Selva, Honda, Tohatsu, Mercury, Mariner, Suzuki, Evinrude, and Johnson. Yamaha/Selva 70–140 hp 2-stroke and 70–115 hp 4-stroke engines normally use hub kit 52.537.00; certain Yamaha 115 hp 4-stroke installations require 52.537.01 instead. Honda 75, 90, and 130 hp, as well as 115 hp up to 2010, use 52.537.02. Mercury/Mariner 75–125 hp 2-stroke and 4-stroke use 52.537.03.
Suzuki 70–140 hp 2-stroke and 60/70 hp 4-stroke, as well as Evinrude/Johnson 60/70 hp 4-stroke, use hub kit 52.537.07. Evinrude E-TEC 40–90 hp and 115 hp, as well as Evinrude/Johnson/Selva 70–140 hp 2-stroke, use 52.537.08. Tohatsu 70–140 hp 2-stroke uses 52.537.09; engines from 2003 also require TD-RBKT.
Left-hand rotation requires an engine or gearbox designed for counter-rotation. Verify engine make, model, year, gear housing, propeller shaft, and rotation direction before selecting a propeller and hub kit. The listed hub kits are alternative engine adaptations, and only the kit that fits the specific engine should be used.
