This Solas New Saturn Rubex 3-blade stainless steel propeller has a diameter of 13", a pitch of 19", and left-hand rotation. The propeller is designed for outboard motors and uses an interchangeable Rubex hub and damper system.
The Rubex hub system allows the propeller to be adapted to different engine makes and propeller shafts by choosing the correct engine-specific hub kit. The propeller is supplied without a hub and damper, which must therefore be purchased separately. The number of splines is determined by the chosen hub kit and can be 13 or 15 depending on the engine installation.
The New Saturn/Rubex NS3 series is developed as an all-round propeller with good acceleration and a blade design with a large blade area. The stainless steel construction is precision-cast and contains chromium, nickel, and molybdenum with a focus on corrosion resistance and stability in the propeller blades. The design is intended for through-hub exhaust.
Compatibility and hub kit
The propeller can be used for documented engine groups from Yamaha, Selva, Mercury, Mariner, Honda, Tohatsu, Suzuki, Evinrude, and Johnson when the correct Rubex hub kit is selected. Yamaha and Selva installations normally use 52.537.00 / RBX-208, while Yamaha/Selva 115 hp 4-stroke requires 52.537.01 / RBX-203. Mercury and Mariner use 52.537.03 / RBX-102, Honda uses 52.537.02 / RBX-107, Tohatsu uses 52.537.09 / RBX-109, Suzuki uses 52.537.07 / RBX-110, and relevant Evinrude/Johnson 2-stroke and E-TEC engines use 52.537.08 / RBX-106.
The documented engine groups include, among others, Yamaha/Selva 70–140 hp 2-stroke and 70–115 hp 4-stroke, Mercury/Mariner 75–125 hp 2- and 4-stroke, Honda 75–130 hp depending on model and year, Tohatsu 70–140 hp 2-stroke, Suzuki 75–140 hp 2-stroke as well as older 60/70 hp 4-stroke, and relevant Evinrude/Johnson engines. The engine model, year, gear case, rotation direction, and propeller shaft must always be checked before choosing a hub kit.
