This Solas Rubex HR4 4-blade stainless steel propeller has a 14" diameter, a 21" pitch, and counter-rotation. The propeller is designed for high-horsepower engines and is used with a separate, engine-specific Rubex hub/installation kit.
The Rubex system features an interchangeable rubber-based hub, allowing the propeller to be combined with the correct hub kit for the specific engine and drive type. The relevant kit must be selected based on engine make, model, year, horsepower, gearcase, and shaft spline count, and is not included.
The HR4 series is engineered with high blade rake and cupped blades. The design is intended for high thrust, smooth engine operation, good stern lift and acceleration, as well as improved speed and economy in the mid-range. The propeller is manufactured from stainless steel using precision casting, which provides stable propeller blades and excellent corrosion resistance.
The 14 x 21" size indicates a 14" propeller diameter and a theoretical advance of 21" per revolution without slip. This variant is counter-rotating and designed for 4¾" gearcase applications with through-hub exhaust. The specified shaft spline count is 15 teeth when using the relevant hub kit.
Compatibility and installation kits
For Yamaha 150-300 hp, including V6 applications as well as 2-stroke and 4-stroke engines, use kit 52.537.01 / RBX-203. For Mercury 135-300 hp as well as MerCruiser Alpha One and Bravo One, use kit 52.537.03 / RBX-102. For Suzuki 150-250 hp, use kit 52.537.05 / RBX-104.
For Honda 115 hp from 2010 and 135-250 hp, kit 52.537.02 / RBX-107 is specified; however, the kit description only covers up to 225 hp, so Honda 250 installations must be verified separately. For Johnson/Evinrude 130-300 hp, E-TEC, and relevant Cobra 800 and King Cobra applications up to and including 1994, use kit 52.537.04 / RBX-100.
