This Solas Rubex interchangeable propeller hub kit in variant RBX-104 connects a compatible Rubex propeller to the propeller shaft of select Suzuki, Evinrude, Johnson, and BRP engines. The hub kit is designed for New Saturn and HR TITAN Rubex propellers and is supplied separately from the propeller itself.
The rubber-based hub with an aluminum core transfers the engine's torque between the propeller shaft and the propeller housing. The elastic construction dampens shocks and vibrations in the drivetrain, while the Rubex system makes it possible to combine a separate propeller housing with the hub kit that fits the specific engine and propeller shaft.
Compatible engine models
RBX-104 fits Suzuki DT 150-225 hp 2-stroke engines from model year 1986 and later, as well as Suzuki DF 150-300 hp 4-stroke engines. It also fits Evinrude, Johnson, and BRP 200-225 hp 4-stroke engines from model years 2004-2005. All documented engine applications use a propeller shaft with 15 splines and a 4¾" gearcase.
The hub kit belongs to SOLAS propeller category E. Compatibility includes New Saturn Rubex propellers with part numbers 52.532.02, 52.532.03, 52.532.04, 52.532.05, 52.532.06, 52.532.07, 52.532.50, 52.532.51, 52.532.52, 52.532.53, 52.532.54, and 52.532.55, when the engine application also corresponds to RBX-104.
Kit contents
The kit includes RBX hub 81023150, thrust washer 81013450, and rear spacer 81053450. The spacer is only used when the specific installation requires it. Propeller, original propeller nut, and original cotter pin are not included.
Installation
The thrust washer is installed first on the propeller shaft with the cone correctly positioned. The RBX hub is inserted from the back of the propeller with the splines facing forward towards the blade tips and is pressed in carefully until it is flush with the hub cavity. The propeller shaft should be lubricated before installing the propeller and hub. The rear spacer is mounted as needed, after which the original propeller nut and cotter pin are installed according to the engine or drive manufacturer's instructions.
Always check the engine/drive model, gearcase, number of splines, and original part number before purchasing. Follow the engine owner's manual for safety and correct tightening.
