Solas Rubex interchangeable propeller hub kit RBX-105 is an engine- and drive-specific mounting kit for New Saturn and HR TITAN Rubex propellers. This variant is intended for Volvo Penta SX and OMC/Cobra SX sterndrives from model year 1994 and newer with a 19-spline propeller shaft and a 4 3/4" gearcase.
RBX-105 is part of the Rubex Interchangeable Hub System, where the interchangeable rubber-based propeller hub transfers power between the propeller shaft and the propeller. The rubber construction reduces vibrations and mechanical noise, and provides up to 10° of elastic deflection, which contributes to smoother gear shifting and cushioning of impacts from underwater objects.
The hub kit features an aluminum core and belongs to SOLAS propeller category E. The current hub part number is 17075300. The mounting kit includes thrust washer 81013250, Rubex hub 81023750, and rear spacer 81053750. The original cotter pin is reused and is not included.
During installation, the thrust washer is positioned correctly against the propeller shaft taper, after which the RBX hub is inserted from the boat side of the propeller with the hub's splines facing forward. The propeller shaft is greased, the propeller is pushed onto the shaft, and the rear spacer is installed when the drive application requires it. The shaft nut must be tightened to the torque specified in the engine or drive manual.
RBX-105 can be used with both right- and left-rotating compatible propellers and is therefore not limited to left-hand rotation. Documented compatible New Saturn propellers include part numbers 52.532.02, 52.532.03, 52.532.04, 52.532.05, 52.532.06, and 52.532.07.
