This Solas stainless steel 3-blade Rubex propeller with interchangeable hub is a right-hand rotation Rubex L3 Plus propeller with a diameter of 15 3/4" and a pitch of 21". The propeller is made of stainless steel and has manufacturer no. 9571-158-21.
The Rubex L3 Plus series combines a large diameter and large blade area and is designed for larger and heavier boats. The design is intended for efficient performance at both medium and high speeds. The stainless steel provides stable propeller blades and resistance to saltwater corrosion, while the high-polish finish provides a smooth surface.
The propeller uses the Solas Rubex system with a separate, interchangeable hub/cushion kit. The correct hub kit is selected based on the engine, gearcase, propeller shaft, and spline count and is not included. Therefore, the propeller product itself does not have a fixed spline count. For Suzuki installations, the exhaust is routed through the hub.
Compatible engine models
With the correct Rubex hub kit, the propeller can be used for Suzuki DF150, DF175, DF200, DF225, DF250, and DF300, 4-stroke, with a 4 3/4" gearcase and 15-tooth spline shaft. It is also linked to Evinrude/Johnson 200-225 hp, 4-stroke.
Other specific installations include Yamaha 300 and 350 hp V8 as well as Selva 300-350 hp, 4-stroke. These use the RBX-127 hub kit, 5 1/4" gearcase, and 17-tooth spline shaft. Mercury installations include Verado 300/350 hp and Pro XS 225/250 hp with the RBX-123 hub kit, 1.25" shaft, and 19 splines.
Hub kits and mounting
For Suzuki, RBX-104 or RBX-104B is used. Item no. 52.537.05 is the RBX-104 hub kit, while RBX-104B is marked for saltwater use. For Yamaha/Selva, item no. 52.537.10, RBX-127, is used. For the mentioned Mercury engines, item no. 52.537.11, RBX-123, is used. In the Suzuki installation, the original propeller nut and cotter pin are not included in the hub kit.
