Black water tank with built-in Whale Gulper pump is a pre-assembled solution for the collection and discharge of toilet and black water on board. This variant has a net volume of 115 l and is supplied with a 24 V DC pump, so the tank and discharge pump form a complete installation.
The built-in Whale Gulper 50.113.24 pump uses a diaphragm and valves instead of an impeller. The design is developed to handle both macerated and non-macerated toilet waste and is self-priming, dry-run tolerant, and resistant to clogging. The pump has a free flow rate of 18 l/min and a maximum suction and discharge head of 3 m. The total suction and discharge head must not exceed 3 m.
The tank inlets and outlets are designed as hose barbs to limit the number of threaded connections, where odors can otherwise escape. The pump's inlet and outlet fit 38 mm / 1½" hose. The tank has a flat bottom, an inspection hatch, and a 5-hole flange for a separate level sensor. The level sensor float must be a maximum of 35 cm long.
The 24 V pump consumes 1.8 A under the specified operating conditions and 2 A during dry running. A 5 A fuse and a cable cross-section of at least 1.5 mm² are recommended. The pump is polarity sensitive, has a noise level of 72 dB, and may run continuously for up to 40 minutes. The pump component is ignition-protected according to ISO 8846.
For the discharge system, use a smooth, thick-walled, and dimensionally stable 38 mm hose with the shortest and straightest possible hose runs. Avoid low points where waste liquid can collect, and use two stainless steel hose clamps at each pump connection. If there is a risk of siphoning, especially below the waterline, the system must be equipped with a vented loop or siphon breaker and be correctly vented.
The tank is manufactured in accordance with ISO 8099 for waste systems for toilet waste in small craft. The mounting slots are intended for mounting brackets 52.195.00; the fit of the brackets should be checked before ordering. Maintenance kit 50.113.99 as well as clamp ring and screw set 16.155.98 are available for the built-in pump. Use only cleaning agents intended for marine toilets, and avoid bleach and drain cleaners.
