Elastic fastening loop from Stayput is a flexible fabric fastener for securing boat covers, tarpaulins, and other fabric or canvas coverings. This white SCL 80 variant has a nominal length of 80 mm and is supplied in a pack of 5.
The loop is mounted directly through the fabric and can be tensioned around a suitable mating fixture. It can be used in conjunction with the Stayput Shock Cord Knob, Lashing Hook, and Dome Hook. The length of this type of loop is measured from the center of the mounting knob to the bottom point of the loop.
The construction consists of elastic cord and nylon mounting components. The elastic cord is secured with machine-pressed brass crimps, which do not rust and are designed to remain securely in place on the cord.
Installation requires a 6 mm hole in the fabric. The integrated back plate has a diameter of 22 mm and distributes the load over a larger area, which reduces the risk of the fastener pulling out or tearing the fabric. The loop can be installed in various fabric thicknesses without special tools.
The fastener can be removed and reinstalled without damaging the fabric. This makes the construction suitable for covers and tarpaulins where the fastening needs to be replaceable or repositionable.
