Stayput elastic fastening loop in black is an 80 mm closed elastic loop for securing boat canopies, boat covers, tarpaulins, and other technical textiles. The length is measured in an unstretched state from the center of the round textile fastener to the end of the loop.
The loop is mounted directly into the textile through a 6 mm hole and therefore does not require a traditional metal eyelet or grommet. The round back plate has a diameter of 22 mm and distributes the load over a larger textile area, which reduces the local strain around the mounting hole. The documented maximum textile thickness is 2.7 mm.
The fastening part is made of UV-stabilized nylon composite, while the elastic cord has a diameter of 6 mm and is assembled with machine-pressed brass crimps. The construction is corrosion-resistant and suitable for marine environments as well as permanent outdoor use. This variant is also resistant to saltwater and chlorine.
Installation is performed by making a 6 mm hole, passing the lower fastening part through the textile, and pressing the round top part together with the bottom part. No special tools are required; if necessary, the parts can be snapped together with a gentle tap from a hammer. The fitting can be removed and reattached without damaging the textile, and the elastic cord can be replaced.
The elastic loop is tensioned over a separate counterpart and can be used with the Stayput Shock Cord Knob, Lashing Hook, as well as horizontal and other Dome Hook fittings. The pack contains 5 fastening loops.
