STRONG 3-way Y-valve is a manual diverter valve for marine sewage, blackwater, and bilge systems. The valve can be used, among other things, to select between holding tank and direct discharge, between deck pump-out and seacock, or between two separate bilge areas.
The valve body is made of fiber-reinforced nylon with stainless steel structural parts. The corrosion-resistant design features a molded flow direction indicator. The movement of the diverter simultaneously helps clean the sealing surface, giving the valve a self-cleaning functional principle.
The valve has connections for 38 mm hose and is supplied with an additional straight 25 mm inlet port. The pre-installed 38 mm inlet port can be replaced with the 25 mm port, for example when connecting to a macerator toilet with a 25 mm outlet. The ports can be rotated so that the hoses can be routed in parallel, at a 90° angle, in opposite directions, or upwards and downwards, without having to dismantle the valve itself.
For standard surface mounting, the valve is fixed to a flat and easily accessible surface via three mounting points. Hose routing should be performed without sharp bends, kinks, or low points that can retain fluid. Each hose connection must be double-secured with two stainless steel hose clamps.
The included bulkhead extension allows the valve body to be positioned hidden behind a bulkhead, so only the selector handle is visible on the operation side. The bulkhead thickness can be up to approximately 44.5 mm, and the shaft requires a clearance hole of approximately 40 mm. The catalog dimensions of the product are 200 × 80 × 60 mm.
The selector handle can be locked with a padlock or sealed in both valve positions. Padlock not included. The valve complies with ISO 8099 for onboard sewage systems.
The valve should be switched between positions approximately once a month to limit the buildup of residue. The top and diverter mechanism can be opened by removing three machine screws. The system must be flushed and emptied before service, and any seacock must be closed.
For electrical operation, the valve can be supplemented with electrification kit 50.231.12 for 12 V or 50.231.24 for 24 V. The complete electric valves 50.230.12 and 50.230.24 are standalone alternatives based on the same manual valve design.
