This swiveling ball joint for platforms, gangways, canopies, and motor mounts is a marine pipe fitting for round tubes with an outer diameter of Ø 25 mm. The ball joint allows the connected pipe section to be angled relative to the base plate and can be used in constructions for, among other things, swimming platforms, gangways, canopies, sunshades, and motor mounts.
The fitting is made of AISI 316 stainless steel with a mirror-polished surface. The material and surface are suitable for visible maritime installations where the fitting is exposed to moisture and salt water. The round base plate has an outer diameter of Ø 70 mm and a thickness of 3 mm.
The pipe sleeve mounts externally over a Ø 25 mm pipe and has an outer diameter of Ø 28 mm. The vertical dimension from the top edge of the sleeve to the bottom reference at the joint and base is 42 mm. The drawing shows separate angle indications of 35° and 10° around the sleeve's swivel position; these indications do not constitute a specified total working range.
The base plate is attached to the substrate through three countersunk mounting holes. Each through-hole is Ø 6 mm with a Ø 10.5 mm countersink at a 90° angle. Mounting screws must be ordered separately. A central elongated hole is indicated with a width of 9 mm.
The fitting is a universal construction fitting with no specified compatibility with particular boat or motor models. Check the pipe's outer diameter as well as the strength and geometry of the mounting substrate before installation.
