This heat-shrinkable adhesive polyethylene tape measures 50 mm × 33 m and is intended for joining, sealing, and repairing heat-shrink film. The tape can be used for, among other things, the protective wrapping of boats, aircraft, trucks, and industrial equipment during transport or long-term outdoor storage.
The tape is single-sided and consists of a strong polyethylene film backing with a rubber-based adhesive. The quick initial tack and good adhesion to PE and shrink film make it possible to seal joints and secure the edges of the film. The conformable construction also follows irregular surfaces.
The total thickness is 0.229 mm, of which the PE layer accounts for 0.191 mm. The tape is resistant to abrasion, UV radiation, weathering, moisture, mold, solvents, and chemical influences. It has an adhesion to steel of 3.7 N/cm and an elongation at break of 500%.
The tape can also be used around doors, openings, and ventilation parts installed in the shrink film. Functionally related accessories include doors with item no. 46.187.01 and 46.187.02 as well as ventilation parts with item no. 46.188.01 and 46.188.02. Accessories are not included.
The application temperature is 10-49 °C, while the operating temperature is -40 to approx. 93 °C. The tape has good adhesion at low temperatures and can be removed cleanly from most surfaces without discoloration or visible adhesive residue. Recommended storage is at approx. 16-27 °C and 40-60% relative humidity.
