Tessilmare BINO fender profile in grey PVC in the BINO 65 model is a two-part protective profile for flat mounting surfaces on boats, commercial vessels, workboats, houseboats, quays, and pontoons. The profile is supplied as a 12 m roll and has a cross-section of 65 × 37 mm.
The construction consists of a base profile and an interlocking top/closing profile in PVC. The base profile is screwed onto the substrate, after which the closing profile is pressed or tapped into place with a rubber mallet. The finished profile hides the fastening screws, and the two components can be replaced separately during future servicing. The patented design was developed by Rezzonico Massimo.
BINO 65 is designed without a lip and is intended for mounting on flat surfaces. The profile height is 65 mm, the protrusion is 37 mm, and the documented minimum bending radius is 55 mm. The profile weight is 2.12 kg per meter, corresponding to a calculated net weight of 25.44 kg for the entire roll.
The profile can be cold-mounted without permanent heating. For difficult curves, preheating can make unrolling and fitting easier. The profile can be heated for 30–60 minutes at 40–60 °C in water or a low-temperature oven, or left in the sun for a few hours. An industrial heat gun should only be used locally for demanding bends.
During installation, the base profile is drilled and screwed into place, and the ends are trimmed and secured with screws. Self-tapping A4/316 stainless steel screws with an oval head, shank diameter of 4.8 mm and head diameter of 9.5 mm, along with a 4–4.2 mm drill bit, are recommended. Suitable screw specifications follow DIN 7983, UNI 6956, or ISO 7051. On aluminum boats, aluminum accessories should be used rather than steel accessories.
Accessories
Grey end cap with item no. 44.046.95 matches the profile, while 44.045.95 is a compatible black end cap. The optional stainless steel mounting profile 44.047.01 is supplied in 2 m lengths and is not included with this profile roll. A pre-drilled aluminum mounting bar is available as Tessilmare 130-110-185, and an end cap in 316L stainless steel is available as 130-500-570.
