This Tessilmare BINO 90 fender profile in grey PVC is a heavy-duty, fixed fender rail for protecting hulls, quays, and pontoons. The profile is supplied in a continuous 12 m length and is designed to provide high protection for vessels such as heavy craft, workboats, military boats, yachts, and houseboats.
The patented design consists of two interlocking PVC parts: a base profile that is screwed onto the mounting surface, and a top insert that is pressed or tapped into place with a rubber mallet. The top insert covers the mounting screws and provides a sealed surface. The components can be replaced separately if a part is damaged later.
BINO 90 is made of marine-grade PVC with a hardness of 83 Shore. This variant is grey, corresponding to RAL 7047, and has a cross-section of 90 × 53 mm. This version of the profile has no lip and is intended for mounting on flat surfaces. The external cross-section radius is R42.1 mm, the insert radius is R39.7 mm, and the documented minimum bending radius is 70 mm. The linear weight is 4.165 kg/m.
The base profile is mechanically fastened, after which the top insert is installed using pressure or a rubber mallet. A pre-drilled support profile is recommended for BINO 90 and is sold separately; washers can be used as an alternative. The recommended drill diameter is 4.0–4.2 mm. For fastening, self-drilling A4/316 screws with oval heads, Phillips no. 10, 9.5 mm head diameter, and 4.8 mm shank diameter according to DIN 7983, UNI 6956, or ISO 7051 are recommended. A2 screws are not recommended.
The profile can be installed without heating. However, preheating can facilitate installation, especially for difficult bends. The recommended procedure is 30–60 minutes at 40–60 °C in warm water or a low-temperature oven, or alternatively, a few hours in sunlight. The ends are trimmed and secured with a screw, while end caps must partially overlap the profile end. When mounting on aluminum boats, aluminum accessories are recommended.
