Tessilmare QBE 65 PVC fender profile is a flexible, shock-absorbing protective profile for a boat's hull/deck joint. This variant is supplied as a 12 m roll in grey RAL 7047 and has a nominal profile dimension of 65 mm. The modern, roughly square design provides effective protection for demanding use on leisure craft, commercial vessels, and military boats.
The QBE 65 consists of two interlocking PVC modules: a base that is screwed onto the boat, and a top/cover profile that is pressed on afterwards. The top part covers the mounting screws and provides a clean, continuous surface. The design is patented, developed by Rezzonico Ranieri, and manufactured by Tessilmare.
The fully assembled profile has an actual cross-section of approximately 64 × 46 mm. The base profile is 50 mm wide before the top part is installed, while the top insert measures 49.8 mm in width and 21 mm in height. The profile weight is 2.51 kg per meter.
The profile is intended for flat mounting surfaces as well as boxed and sandwich joints between hull and deck. For sandwich installations, the base cutout can be oriented upwards or downwards depending on the design of the installation. The QBE 65 is installed without a separate reinforcement rail.
The base is drilled and fastened directly with screws, after which the top insert is pressed or tapped into place with a rubber mallet. For fastening, use A4/316 stainless, self-tapping or self-drilling screws with an oval head, 4.8 mm shank, and 9.5 mm head. The specified screw standards are DIN 7983, UNI 6956, or ISO 7051, and the recommended drill size is 4–4.2 mm. A2 screws are not recommended.
The profile can be rolled out without heating, but controlled preheating can facilitate installation at difficult curves. This can be done, for example, in 40–60 °C warm water for 30–60 minutes or with an industrial heat gun. The corresponding grey QBE 65 end cap is available separately under item no. 44.105.01 and must partially overlap the profile end.
