This rigid mounting rail for fender profile is the hidden base profile in the Tessilmare Radial 30 system. The black rail is supplied in a 2 m length and is mounted along the boat's hull or hull-deck joint as a substrate for a separate soft, shock-absorbing outer profile.
Radial 30 is a two-part, patented fender profile system. This item includes only the rigid mounting rail; the soft outer profile is not included. The rail is compatible with the soft Radial 30 profiles in white, grey, and black with item nos. 44.032.02, 44.032.03, and 44.032.04. The outer profile is pressed onto the attached rail without welding.
The rail is manufactured from black, rigid Duralene® PVC. The maximum width across the bottom flanges is 23.5 mm, while the top part is 15.5 mm wide. The minimum bending radius is 50 mm, and the rail can be hand-bent incrementally to follow the contour of the boat. Strong direct heating must not be used, as the rigid PVC can be damaged.
Mounting is carried out with screws or blind rivets placed in the central part of the rail. For Radial 30, self-drilling A4/316L flat-head screws are recommended in size Phillips no. 6, head diameter 6.8 mm, and shank diameter 3.5 mm. A2 screws are discouraged. The rail must be mounted with the longest lip facing downwards so that the joint between the hull and deck is correctly covered. Mounting on completely flat surfaces is discouraged without prior technical clarification.
When installing the complete system, the soft profile is started from the transom and rolled or pressed onto the rail's locking tabs. The soft profile is stretched approximately 2-3 cm per meter during installation and secured at the ends, which can subsequently be covered with appropriate end or connector pieces.
The manufacturer number for the rail is 130-141-006. Documented end pieces include white end piece 44.030.01 and stainless steel end piece 44.484.00. PVC surfaces can be cleaned with a liquid degreaser; PVC cleaners must be used with the correct dilution to avoid permanent damage.
