Soft PVC fender profile in the Tessilmare Radial 52 series is the black, outer part of a two-piece fender profile system for protecting the boat hull at the hull/deck joint. The profile is supplied as a continuous 24 m roll and is part of the patented Radial system.
This item includes only the soft, outer PVC profile and is therefore not a complete fender profile. The necessary rigid Radial 52 mounting rail, item no. 44.052.05, must be ordered separately. The rail is screwed or riveted to the hull, after which the PVC profile is pressed or rolled onto the rail's locking fins without welding.
The profile has an external width of 52 mm and an external radius of R26 mm. When combined with the separate mounting rail, the total depth of the system is 38 mm. The seamless roll allows for a continuous installation without profile joints over the length of the roll.
Radial 52 can be installed cold without general preheating. During installation, the profile is bent backward to open the locking lips, after which it is pressed onto the rail. Installation begins at the transom and proceeds toward the bow. The profile is stretched approximately 2-3 cm per meter to achieve a tight fit, and both the rail and profile are oriented with the longest lip facing downward.
For fastening the separate rail, self-drilling screws in A4/316L stainless steel with a flat or countersunk TPS head, shank diameter 4.8 mm, and head diameter 9.5 mm are recommended. The recommended drill bit is 4.0-4.2 mm. Screws are not included. In case of difficult curves, slight local heating may be used, but excessive heating can damage the PVC material.
The PVC surface can be cleaned with a liquid degreasing agent. Specialized agents for PVC must be diluted correctly to avoid permanent damage. Documented accessories include rigid mounting rail 44.052.05, white end terminal 44.055.01, stainless steel end cap 44.484.02, and stainless steel joint cover 44.042.16.
