Tessilmare Radial 52 PVC fender profile is a white, semi-rigid external protective profile for the joint between the hull and the deck. The profile is supplied as a 24 m roll and consists only of the soft external insert. The required rigid Radial 52 mounting track is not included.
The patented design features integrated gripping flanges, which are pressed and rolled onto the fins of the separate mounting track. Installation does not require welding, and the Radial 52 profile can be installed cold without preheating. Together, the profile and track form the complete fender and rubbing strake along the boat's hull/deck joint.
The profile is made of white PVC in RAL 9010. The nominal profile height is 52 mm, the projection is 29 mm, and the external profile radius is R26 mm. The documented weight is 1.044 kg/m, corresponding to 25.056 kg for a 24 m roll.
The separate track is fastened to the hull with screws or blind rivets. For installation with screws, use self-drilling A4/316 flat-head screws, Phillips no. 10, head diameter 9.5 mm and shaft diameter 4.8 mm, along with a 4-4.2 mm drill bit. A2 screws should not be used. Both the track and profile should be mounted with the longest lip facing downward so that the hull/deck joint is covered correctly.
Installation starts at the transom, after which the profile's gripping flanges are rolled over the track's fins in the direction of the bow. The profile is pulled approximately 2-3 cm per meter to achieve a tight fit and secured at the ends with one or two screws. A light heat gun can assist with difficult bends or minor kinks, but powerful heat sources must not be used on the track. Direct installation on a flat surface is not recommended without technical clarification.
The corresponding rigid Radial 52 mounting track has item no. 44.052.05 and Tessilmare manufacturer no. 130-141-016. A white end cap is available as item no. 44.055.01, while the end cap and joining cover in 316L stainless steel are available as 44.484.02 and 44.042.16 respectively. The PVC surface can be cleaned with liquid degreaser; concentrated PVC cleaners may damage the profile if not diluted correctly.
