The Tessilmare Radial 65 soft PVC fender profile product is the grey, outer part of the two-part Radial 65 fender profile system. The profile is supplied as a 24 m coil and is intended for protection and covering along the boat's hull/deck joint. It is only the soft profile; the required rigid mounting track is not included.
The patented Radial system consists of a hidden, rigid track and this separate outer profile in soft PVC. The track is screwed or riveted to the boat, after which the profile is pressed and rolled onto the track's fins. The design provides an installation without visible fasteners on the outer profile surface and allows for the profile to be replaced later.
Radial 65 has a nominal profile size A of 65 mm, a protrusion B of 29 mm, and a minimum bending radius of 80 mm. The drawing dimension for the loose soft profile is 62.2 mm with an outer radius of R31.1 mm. The linear weight is 1.22 kg/m, corresponding to a nominal profile weight of 29.28 kg for the 24 m coil.
For installation, mounting track 44.065.05, manufacturer no. 130-141-021, is used, which is supplied separately in rigid 2 m lengths. The track can be fastened with blind rivets or self-drilling screws in A4/316 stainless steel. For Radial 65, screw no. 10 with a 9.5 mm head diameter and 4.8 mm shank diameter is specified along with a drill/bit size of 4-4.2 mm. A2 screws should not be used.
The Radial 65 profile must be preheated for 30-60 minutes at 40-60 °C before installation, for example in warm water or a suitable industrial oven. When installing, start at the transom and pull the profile approximately 2-3 cm per meter to achieve a tight fit. Both track and profile are mounted with the longest lip facing downwards. Installation directly onto flat surfaces requires specific clarification.
The profile ends are secured with one or two screws and finished with an end or joint cover that overlaps the profile end. Documented accessories include end terminal 44.055.01, stainless steel end terminal 44.484.03, and stainless steel joint cover 44.042.17. The PVC surface can be cleaned with liquid degreaser; concentrated special agents for PVC can damage the profile if not diluted correctly.
