This Tessilmare Radial 65 mounting rail for fender profile is a 2 m long, black, hidden base profile for the patented Radial 65 system. The rail is mounted at the hull/deck joint of the boat and forms the base for a separate soft PVC outer profile.
The mounting rail is made of rigid Duralene® PVC and measures 40 mm in width at the base and 18 mm in height. The linear weight is 432 g/m, corresponding to a nominal weight of approx. 864 g for a 2 m rail. The complete Radial 65 system measures 65 mm in height and has a protrusion of 29 mm; these dimensions apply to the overall system with the outer profile fitted, not the rail alone.
The rail is fastened directly with blind rivets or self-drilling screws. Stainless steel A4/316 fasteners are recommended, with an spacing of 15-20 cm. For the Radial 65, a #10 Phillips screw with a 9.5 mm head diameter and 4.8 mm shank diameter, along with a drill size of 4-4.2 mm, can be used. Screws or rivets are placed on the outer flanges of the rail, and the long lips are oriented downwards along the hull/deck joint.
The rigid rail is elastic enough to follow the curves of the boat when cold-mounted and can normally be bent by hand without heating. The minimum bending radius is 80 mm. Powerful heat sources should not be used, as they can permanently damage the rail.
The rail is supplied as a separate component without the protective outer profile. It is compatible with Radial 65 outer profiles 44.065.02 in white, 44.065.03 in grey, and 44.065.04 in black. The mounting rail and outer profile must be combined to form a complete fender strip. The manufacturer part number is 130-141-021.
For finishing and joining, separate Radial 65 components can be used, including end piece 44.055.01, stainless steel end piece 44.484.03, and stainless steel joiner 44.042.17. The PVC surface can be cleaned with a liquid degreaser. PVC cleaners must be diluted correctly to avoid permanent damage to the profile.
