This rigid mounting rail for fender profile is the hidden base profile in the Tessilmare Radial 80 system. The black rail is supplied as a 2 m rod and is mounted at the boat's hull/deck joint, where it forms the base for the separate soft outer profile.
The rail is made of Duralene®, which is a rigid PVC construction, and can be hand-bent and mounted cold without heating. The minimum bending radius is 100 mm. The mounting section is 64 mm wide, while the upper locking/center section is 31 mm wide. The linear weight is 565 g/m, corresponding to approximately 1.13 kg for a 2 m rod.
Fastening is performed with screws or blind rivets through the rail's outer flanges. For the Radial 80, self-tapping A4/316 screws with Phillips no. 10, a head diameter of 9.5 mm, and a shank diameter of 4.8 mm are recommended, along with a 4-4.2 mm drill bit. A2 screws are not recommended. The rail must be oriented with the long lip facing downward so that the finished system correctly covers the hull/deck joint.
Strong heat sources must not be used on the rigid rail, as the material may be damaged. When mounting directly on a flat surface, the suitability of the installation should be clarified in advance. The separate soft Radial 80 profile must be preheated according to the applicable installation instructions before being pressed onto the rail.
The rail is intended for the separate Radial 80 profiles with item no. 44.080.02, 44.080.03, and 44.080.04. The currently documented black outer profile has item no. 44.080.04 and manufacturer reference 130-141-027-B. When the rail is assembled with the soft profile, the complete Radial 80 system measures 80 mm in external width and has a projection of 42 mm; these dimensions apply to the overall system and not the rail alone.
The manufacturer reference for the mounting rail is 130-141-026. Documented accessories include stainless steel end caps with item no. 44.484.04 and a joint cover with item no. 44.042.18. The Radial system is patented.
