This Tessilmare Sphæra Slim PVC base is the white mounting base for the Sphæra 35 system. It is supplied as a continuous 24 m roll and can be cut to the required profile length for the boat. The item includes only the PVC base; the outer steel profile and system end caps are not included.
The Slim version is made of white PVC in RAL 9010 and is designed without a mounting lip. It is intended for mounting on flat surfaces, where it forms the base for the separate Sphæra 35 steel profile. The continuous base reduces the need for joints between short, rigid base profiles.
The PVC base measures 37.5 mm in width and 4 mm in height. The minimum bending radius is 75 mm, and the weight is 135 g per meter. The compatible Sphæra 35 steel profile has a cross-section of 34.2 × 12 mm, while the total installed cross-section with the steel profile and Slim base is 37.5 × 14 mm. These system dimensions describe the components in their installed state and not the dimensions of the loose base itself.
For installation, the base is placed along the boat and can be temporarily held in place with vertical strips of tape. Tempering in a warm environment for 8–12 hours can make the material easier to install. A 4–4.2 mm drill bit is recommended, along with self-tapping A4 stainless steel screws with an oval head, Phillips no. 10, head diameter 9.5 mm, and shank diameter 4.8 mm. Suitable screw standards are DIN 7983, UNI 6956, or ISO 7051. A2 screws should not be used, and silicone in the screw holes can facilitate driving and contribute to sealing. Mounting materials are not included.
The associated Sphæra 35 steel profile has manufacturer part no. 130-130-135 and item no. 44.060.35. Joint cover 130-500-135 / 44.063.35 is used for profile joints, while Slim end cap 130-500-635 / 44.064.35 is the relevant end piece for this base. The parts are purchased separately.
For cleaning, a liquid degreaser intended for PVC can be used. Follow the correct dilution of the agent, as improperly applied PVC degreasing products can permanently damage the surface.
