SPHAERA standard base in white PVC from Tessilmare is a flexible mounting base for the SPHAERA 50 fender profile system. This variant is supplied as one continuous 24 m roll and is mounted along the boat hull as a backing for the separate stainless steel SPHAERA 50 profile.
The base has a nominal cross-section of 70 × 25 mm and is made of white PVC. The continuous length reduces the need for joints compared to bases supplied as short, rigid sections. The item includes only the standard PVC base; the visible stainless steel fender profile, joint covers, and end caps are purchased separately.
The soft PVC base is positioned along the desired mounting line and can be temporarily held in place with vertical strips of rubberized tape. Heating in a warm environment for 8–12 hours before installation makes the base more flexible and facilitates adaptation to the shape of the hull. The PVC material can be cut with a utility knife.
For the SPHAERA system, self-tapping A4 stainless steel oval head screws are recommended, Phillips no. 10, head diameter 9.5 mm and shaft diameter 4.8 mm. Suitable screw standards are DIN 7983, UNI 6956, or ISO 7051, and the recommended drill/bit diameter is 4–4.2 mm. A2 screws must not be used. Fasteners are not included unless otherwise stated at the time of order.
The compatible stainless steel SPHAERA 50 profile has item no. 44.060.50. The system can be finished with joint cover 44.063.50 and end cap 44.065.50 for the Standard base. For cleaning, use a liquid degreaser suitable for PVC; an undiluted or unsuitable cleaning agent can damage the material.
